Artist's Statement
In this project, I explored the brush tool in Photoshop to craft ethereal, dreamlike backgrounds that evoke a sense of whimsy and magic—hallmarks of my artistic style. Through "The Sword, The Jewel, and The Mirror," I aimed to reimagine the symbols of the Imperial Regalia, blending tradition with visual storytelling to create a series that feels both enchanting and meaningful
The Jewel of Benevolence
The artwork portrays a jewel as a symbol of benevolence, set against a brush-stroked background designed to evoke auras of kindness and goodness. Heart-shaped jewels encircle the central jewel, emphasizing that benevolence originates from the heart. A photograph of hands makes the jewel appear to float, symbolizing the selfless act of giving rather than holding.
The Mirror of Wisdom
The artwork depicts a mirror as a symbol of wisdom, set against a bright, brush-stroked background representing enlightenment. Books surround the mirror, embodying knowledge and the accumulation of wisdom, while faint outlines of eyes within the reflection hint at the soul’s depth and intuitive understanding, reinforcing the connection between reflection and inner wisdom.
The Sword of Valor
The artwork features a sword as a symbol of valour, brought to life with vibrant colors to represent a burst of courage when confronting challenges, depicted by the surrounding swords. Two central swords emphasize that true bravery includes recognizing the strength in seeking help when needed.
The Sun Godess
This artwork depicts the Sun Goddess bestowing the Imperial Regalia upon the royal family. The Mirror embodies the wisdom of the elders, the Sword radiates the valor of the sun, and the Jewel features two hands—one offering and the other receiving—symbolizing the selfless act of benevolence.
